| Shanghai is divided by Huangpu River. Puxi is at west side while Pudong is at east side. Puxi represents the history of Shanghai and were colonies of several countries in 1900-1930s. For blocks, the river harbour of Shanghai is dominated by the relics of its colonial past, when European and other foreign occupants and adventurers presided over China’s richest consulates, banks, trading houses, hotels, private clubs, and the Customs House. Pudong is designed to be China’s showcase to the world, where 15 years ago there was nothing but mud flats, rice fields and village huts. This tour will explore the history Shanghai in West side and the glory in East side. |
