Shanghai World Expo 2010 Guide
1. What’s the theme of Shanghai Expo 2010?
The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life," representing the common wish of the whole humankind for a better living in future urban environments.
2. What is the logo?
The emblem, depicting the image of three people-you, me, him/her holding hands together, symbolizes the big family of mankind.

3. What is this Gumby-alike creature?
Created from a Chinese character meaning people, the mascot "Haibao" embodies the character of Chinese culture.

4. Where is the Expo venue?
The venue locates both sides of Huangpu River bank in south side of city. The east side of the River is called Pudong while the west side is called Puxi.
5. When does Shanghai Expo start and end?
It runs from May 1 to October 31, 2010.
6. What kinds of transportation will be available in the Expo venue?
Apart of taking a taxi, you can pick one of these ways to enter Expo venue.
By water: There are 4 ferries docks to cross the river – Dongchang Rd, Shiliupu, Qichangzhan and Qinhuangdao Rd ferry. Only Dongchang Rd ferry is for individuals while others are for groups visitors.
By subway: There 11 subways running in the city. Line 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 have Expo stop in a walking distance to pavilions. Line 13 is ONLY for ticket holders and is free of charge.
By bus: Numerous, spreading all over the city
Please note that you may need to walk a little since 7 sq. meters is free of cars in the Expo central venue.
7. What tickets are available?
Peak Day Single Day Admission, Peak Day Special Admission, Standard Day Single Day Admission, Standard Day Special Admission, 3 Day Admission, 7 Day Admission and Evening Admission tickets are available for both groups and individuals. The basic price is Standard Day in Expo RMB160 (USD$23). You can buy the tickets in the venue.
8. How many countries and cooperates are participating and where do they locate?
Groups: There are 12 pavilion groups, 8 of which in the Pudong Section and 4 in the Puxi Section.
9. Other useful information
If time allows, please avoid coming the first of May and October. Those two weeks are holiday in China. Everywhere will be packed. The very last week of this event will be very crowded too.
